PG Calls for Collaborative, Fair and Professional Justice System

Prosecutor General Honourable Loyce Matanda-Moyo has warned state legal officers that poorly drafted charges and shoddy courtroom performance are a dereliction of duty that erodes public trust in the country’s legal system.
She said this while addressing prosecutors at an ongoing Superior Court Procedures Workshop on Appeals.
She said prosecutors are not in court to secure convictions at all costs, but to ensure that justice is done in every case.
Hon. Matanda-Moyo reminded prosecutors that their primary mandate is the pursuit of truth, noting that the scales of justice are mocked whenever a case is botched due to ignorance.
